Based on the Scriptures, we have profound belief in:
1. God is the only true god.
God exists as three persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) but one essence.
(Matthew 28:19; Hebrews 1:1-4; 1 John:14-18; John 16:13-15)
2. Jesus Christ is our Saviour.
Jesus Christ, the only begotten of the Father, is our Saviour and Lord. He died for our sins through crucifixion and resurrected on the third day of His death.
(John 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4)
3. The Scripture is inspired by God.
All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God through Holy Spirit. It is the only foundation on which Christian life and Church’s doctrines are based on.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
4. Salvation is the gift of God.
Salvation comes from the grace of God and the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Only through faith, obedience of the authority of Christ, repentance and baptism can our sins be forgiven.
(Ephesians 1:7-10; Ephesians 2:8-10; Acts 2:38-39)
5. God has built the Church in this world.
God has built a universal church in this world. Disciples have to follow the teaching of the Scriptures, devote themselves to be the body of Christ, actively involve in gatherings and develop intense fellowship with Church members so that disciples can grow under love and encouragement.
(Ephesians 4:4; 1 Timothy 4:16; John 13:34; Mathew 6:33; Hebrews 10:24-25)
6. The greatest commandment is to love God and our neighbour.
The first and greatest commandment disciples have to keep is to ‘love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind’ and ‘love thy neighbour as thyself’.
(Matthew 22:37-39; James 2:8)
7. Disciples need to be trained to grow.
A disciple has to follow the teachings from other disciples after being baptized. Disciples should build truthful, intimate relationship, put into practice the Scripture to ‘love one another’ and be followers of Christ.
(Matthew 28:20; John 13:34-35; 1 Corinthians 11:1)
8. Disciples have to teach one another.
Disciples can undergo training through one-to-one teaching, encouragement or group study. We should teach one another and cary each other’s burden .
(2 Timothy 2:1-2; Colossians 1:28-29; Galatians 6:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:11)
9. Contribution is made willingly.
Our money, time and talents are all gifts from God. Disciples should give a tenth of their income as contribution to the Church. We should also serve the Church with the talents and ability given by God and be good housekeepers for God.
(2 Corinthians 9:6-13; Deuteronomy 8:10-19; Hebrews 11:1-16; 1 Peter 4:7-11; 1 John 3:16-17)
10. Faith is the foundation of marriage.
Marriage is a blessing from God. Therefore, disciples should find their dating partner in the Church. Sanctity should be maintained in the relationship.
(Galatians 5:16; 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10,18; 2 Corinthians 6:14-16)
11. It is a disciple’s mission to evangelize.
The role and mission of a disciple is to ‘seek and save which was lost’ and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
(Mathew 28:19-20; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21)
