Scott and Lynne Green are truly heroic servants of God. As a young married couple, in 1987 they led a small team of disciples from Boston to plant a church in Hong Kong, China. That church today thrives with over 2,000 members and has planted dozens of other churches. After the Greens handed the leadership to Chinese disciples they had trained, they returned to serve the Seattle Church of Christ from 1997 – 2013. They then served our Berlin church for several years until 2017.
Recently, we shared about our brother, Scott, and asked for prayers for an upcoming doctor appointment. We are sad to say that, in spite of the chemo and radiation he has had over the past year, the MRI showed that Scott’s brain tumor has grown significantly in the past two months. It is now impacting his mobility and memory. The doctor has ordered hospice as further treatment is not an option.
Lynne asked that we share this with you all, and wants you to know that they are doing well. They are profoundly grateful for the prayers and support of each of you. They feel it. Obviously this is a very difficult time for Scott, Lynne, their children Stephen and Ariel, and also for so many of us who love and respect them. Scott and Lynne have had a tremendous impact in our church and literally across the globe.
They welcome cards and emails of support, but as you understand Scott can only handle so much. Several people are coordinating the help they need and any visits. Beyond that, it would very encouraging for you to send a card expressing your gratitude and well wishes to:Scott and Lynne Green

In closing, Lynne says, “We are doing well with each other, cherishing each moment, and with God. I have promised to hold tight to Scott’s hand until Jesus grabs it and I must let go. Thank you for your love, prayers , and support.”
In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. – 1 Peter 1:6-9
